Aberdeen Airport Guide

Aberdeen Airport is located approximately seven miles from the city’s center and can be easily found from all of the major roads. Due to the immense oil deposits in the ocean near Aberdeen, the airport is the world’s largest heliport helping transport oil workers to and from their job sites.The Aberdeen Airport is Scotland’s third largest and caters to all aviation needs; private, domestic, charter, and international.
PARKING
The airport has three car parks located close to the terminals. There are short stay, fast track, and long stay lots with a shuttle bus that runs to and from the long stay lots. Disabled parking is located in the long stay lot. There are also off site car parks with round the clock shuttles to and from the airport itself. If you are using this option, allow yourself the extra time needed to travel to or from the airport before your flight.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT TO AND FROM ABERDEEN AIRPORT
There are buses that run from the city center to the airport and these buses also run farther into the surrounding areas. The local taxi company also go to and from the airport and will be able to take you wherever you need in the Aberdeen area. There are no trains that go to the airport and the nearest train station is two miles from the airport.
SHOPS, BARS AND RESTAURANTS
There are shops where you can buy water, books, magazines, souvenirs and other small comfort items. Aberdeen Airport also has duty free shops for international travelers. There are three food outlets before you go through the security gates at the airport and they serve hot and cold meals and one serves alcohol. After security, there is a bar located in the terminal that serves hot and cold food like pasta and pizza as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
