Belfast International handles over 5 million passengers each year and is the 11th busiest airport in the United Kingdom. PARKING
The airport has three car parks located close to the terminals. These are the short stay, the main car park, and long stay lots. The car parks have 8,000 spaces combined so parking is not an issue. Disabled parking is located in the long stay lot. There are also off site car parks with round the clock shuttles to and from the airport itself. If you are using this option, allow yourself the extra time needed to travel to or from the airport before your flight. The car parks are all guarded 24 hours a day.
Public Transport to and from Belfast International Airport
The airport has no train station, but there are bus services that run from the airport to the nearest train station and the city center. There are also bus services that can take you to other train stations that service all of Ireland. Bus services run from Londonderry and the city center and these services also make connections with coach lines that travel all over Ireland. The International Airport Taxi Company is the only licensed taxi company allowed to work at the airport. Their ranks are outside the terminal. There are other taxi companies that work in Ireland that can transport you to the airport should you need them. There are a number of car hire companies inside the airport for you to choose from should you wish to have a vehicle at your disposal during your time in Belfast.
SHOPS, BARS AND RESTAURANTS
There are several shops where you can buy water, books, magazines, souvenirs and other small comfort items. The Belfast International Airport also has duty free shops for international travelers. The airport also has bars and restaurants in it serving a variety of foods ranging from cold and hot food to Starbucks Coffee.. There are food outlets before and after security. These outlets serve hot and cold meals along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
